I WAS going to be a stage actor and singer when I fell in love with live radio in Rhode Island back in 1977. Since then, I have been on air in Providence, Boston and here on The Island and playing Country back “When Country Wasn’t Cool” and Urban Cowboy was! We survived that!!!! I have been fortunate to still be making a great living working as a freelance voice over talent – since 1993- under the name Jim VOYSGUY O’Brien. Maybe you’ve seen my Jeep Wrangler with that plate on The Southern State or in the parking lot at Jones Beach or The Catholic Health Amphitheatre in Farmingville!!!! I have been the original and ONLY voice of News 12 Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey and the Bronx since 1995 and now also News 12 New York and still the station image voice for 26 radio and TV stations across the good Ole USA!. You may have heard me in theaters before a movie starts or voicing some animai (sic) cartoon character on TV, a documentary or maybe in the checkout line at the local supermarket here on the Long Island. Yeah – I LOVE to talk to people! Here on the Island, I was the Midday on air guy on WBZO B-103 in Melville New York for 7 years until the format changed – something the new owners do a lot these days LOL! My Country is a great radio station with really great JVC people and I LOVE being here Every time I voice a documentary or animation character, I realize that perhaps I AM became an actor after all! Thanks for making MY COUNTRY Long Islands Home for Country for 14 plus years in 2025! You are appreciated!
